A new latex pillow has the characteristic odor of plastic that is noticeable during the first few uses, but can be safely cleaned to remove the odor. Although this type of pillow cannot be machine washed due to the fragility of the material, spot cleaning is recommended until odors are eliminated. Step 1
Remove the latex pillow cover and machine wash with a mild detergent and cold water. Dry the cover in a tumble dryer or tumble dryer to prevent wrinkles.

Fill a small container with 2 cups of cold water and add 1 tablespoon of mild laundry detergent or 1 cup of distilled white vinegar.

Dip a cloth into the cleaning solution in the container and wring out any excess moisture.
