- How to remove a blood stain from a cotton pillowcase and Pillowcases Product

Method 1 Salt method

Using salt is a very effective method of removing blood stains from a pillowcase. Because salt is a natural element, it does not harm the material, such as discoloration.

1
Fill a sink or bucket with cold water. Put the pillowcase so that it is completely saturated.

2
Hold the areas of the pillow near the bloodstain with each hand, rubbing against each other to help loosen the blood.

3
Place the pillowcase on your work area.

4
Pour some table salt or meat tenderizer onto the blood stain, and let it sit for about 20 minutes. This normally removes a lot, if not all of the blood from the fabric.

5
Rinse the fabric under cool running water.

6
Pour a small spoonful of shampoo or dish soap on the stain.

7
Rewrite the dirty part of the fabric against the other, as in step 2.

8
Rinse the fabric under cool running water.

9
When the blood stain is completely gone, wash the pillowcase as usual.

Method 2 Hydrogen peroxide method

Hydrogen peroxide is a known cleaning agent, and it is effective in removing blood stains as well. Make sure to wash the pad cover carefully after use.

1
Place the pillowcase in the area where you will be doing the work.

2
Pour the hydrogen peroxide directly onto the bloodstain. Usually a 3% solution is sufficient.

3
Allow the hydrogen peroxide fizz to work for a few minutes to allow the chemical to react with the bloodstain to break it down.

4
Dry with a damp sponge or cloth.

5
Repeat steps 2 through 4 until the blood stain is removed.

6
Wash the pillowcase as usual in cold water.

Tips

  • For small fresh blood stains, a laundry or dish detergent is sufficient to remove the blood stain.

Warnings

  • Do not use warm or hot water to remove the stain, as the heat will set the stain on the fabric. Also, do not put the fabric under the dryer before removing the stains.
