Remove yellow from your pillows with this trick

Remove yellow from your pillows with this trick

Have you washed the pillow repeatedly and it still retains its yellowish color? These cushions tend to turn yellow due to sweat and saliva that create stains that are very difficult to remove in the washing machine. In addition to these unsightly marks, pillows are the nest of mites and microbes that roam freely on your face and lungs and that can affect your health.

By absorbing the sweat that we shed when we sleep, our headrest loses its characteristic white color and turns yellowish or grayish and leaving 'maps' everywhere. And those little spots that appear? The culprit is our saliva that spills when we sleep soundly and with our mouths open.

So that you don't complicate your life and you can sleep peacefully, we bring you a homemade trick to whiten your pillows and leave them as new without having to buy others.

Before you start doing it, check the label of your pillow to see if it is suitable for the ingredients that are needed and for the washing programs when bleaching it and, yes or it is, do not hesitate to try this homemade turkey to leave your pillow as white as before .

We prepare the homemade bleach:

  • 12 cups of water (3 liters)
  • Half a cup of lemon juice (125 ml)
  • 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide (250 ml)

Put all the ingredients in a container or bucket and stir to integrate them completely. Next we prepare a special mixture when putting our pillow in the washing machine:

  • 1 cup of laundry detergent
  • 1 cup biodegradable dishwasher detergent
  • 1 cup of household bleach
  • Half a cup of borax or boron salt
  • Hot water

Finally, we only need to remove the cover and put our pillow in the washing machine and set a hot water cycle . Two rinses are scheduled to keep it clean. Put on gloves and introduce all the ingredients that we have indicated; you just have to wait for the machine to do its job and dry it in the sun afterwards.
This same formula can also be used to remove sweat stains on the sleeves of your white shirts.
