6 ways to reuse old pillows

Have you ever wondered what to do with your old pillows. With millions, maybe billions of old pillows in landfills right now, taking up space, with years to go before they completely break down or degrade, you won't want to throw any more in the trash.

- 6 ways to reuse old pillows and Pillows Product

There are several ways to recycle or reuse your pillows by turning them into other useful items.

The first is the first:

Always wash and dry your old pillows before recycling or reusing them. Wash them in warm or hot water, add 1/2 cup of white vinegar instead of bleach for whiteness, wash and rinse on a normal cycle. You can then dry them on low to medium heat.
Throw away stained, discolored, or torn pillow covers.

Ways to reuse your pillows:

1. Give it to your pet. Save your money! Instead of buying an expensive pet bed, let her take a nap on the pillow. It will have your familiar scent which will be especially comforting to her. If you are more upbeat, you can use the pillows to make a pet bed.

2. Re-build worn out stuffed animals. Does your child (or pet) have a favorite stuffed toy that has been damaged into pieces? You can use the stuffing from the old pillows as a new stuffing to repair these toys. You just have to open the toy along the seam, add the stuffing and sew. Then you can wash the toy by hand or machine, then it will be as good as when it was new.

3. Throw them in the car. Keep a little old, but clean pillow in your car. They can be useful for many occasions. Passengers can rest their heads on them on long road trips. If you go on a picnic, you can sit on the pillows instead of the hard dirt.

4. Use them as packing material. You can use old pillows when moving or transporting boxes to store your fragile items in a more secure way. You can also use the filler to store your fragile Christmas decorations.

5. Make new pillows . Do you need new ones? You can always upcycling the material into new pillows. Find an inexpensive fabric with a nice pattern and use the stuffing from the old pillows for the new ones.

6. Give them away. You never know, someone may need them for their own repurposing project.
