 HYDROTHERAPY: WET BED SHEET TREATMENT

Hydrotherapy Treatments (using Water to improve disease or prevent it) are one of the most effective and simple means that we can apply. On this occasion we share how to use a wet sheet to improve fever symptoms, as an excellent tonic in chronic diseases or sedation in cases of Stress and the Detox method.

- HYDROTHERAPY: WET BED SHEET TREATMENT and Bed Sheets Product

Indications:

  • In cases of infections.
  • When there is fever.
  • To reassure the mentally ill.
  • As a general tonic in case of chronic diseases.

Contraindications:

  • In very weak people.
  • Patients with poor circulation.
  • People with very bad flu.
  • When there are open sores or wounds on the skin.
  • In cases of phlebitis.
  • When there is general weakness.

Team:

  •  Two sheets.
  • A blanket.
  • Cold water.
  • Plastic to protect the bed.
  • Cold compress.

The cold sheet has three phases:

  • Cooling phase. This has an antipyretic effect (lowers fever). This phase lasts about 20 minutes.
  • Neutral phase. This phase is beneficial in insomnia, mania, delirium, restlessness, nervous exhaustion, etc. To obtain the effects of this phase, the sheet must be left on for at least one hour.
  • Heating or sweating phase. Useful in cases of alcoholism, smoking, gout, bronchitis, minor colds, jaundice (yellow fever). In cases of measles and scarlet fever it helps the development of the rash. This phase should last 1 to 2 hours in order to obtain the desired effects.

 Process:

(We have the video only in English, but it is useful to see the procedure that you will see detailed below)

  1. To begin treatment, place a cold pack on your head or forehead. If you have an ice pack, it will be better.
  2. Warm the patient a little with a warm foot bath.
  3. The treatment can be given on a table, or on a bed. Protect the bed with plastic. Spread the blanket on top of the plastic, then spread out the wet sheet.
  4. Soak the sheet in cold water and wring it out as best you can.
  5. Spread it out on the ready-made bed or table, lay the patient on it. The upper edge of the sheet should be at the height of the neck. Tuck the top right edge of the sheet under the left arm and fold towards the back. Then with the left side of the sheet wrap the patient, covering the right leg completely. The sheet should fit snugly against the body for best effect; but, it should not be too tight that the patient does not feel tight. Secure the sheet with snap hooks.
  6. Finally wrap the patient in the blanket.
