Nail Art Tools // How to Make Nail Art

Nail Art Tools // How to Make Nail Art

Many times e-mails come to us with questions about the materials and instruments to make decorations on the nails.

Although we always try to explain what tool we have used for a decoration, not everyone gets the idea or knows exactly what we are talking about, or where they can be obtained.

This post is for those people who are still not clear about the type of tools used to make nail art, or who do not know some of them.

- Nail Art Tools // How to Make Nail Art and Nail Art Accessories

It is basically a didactic post where we present the material that always goes with us and without which this blog would not be possible. You can find many of these tools at Nailistas.com's online nail art store.

The stamping plates are basic to make very precise and varied drawings that are already designed by the manufacturer. On the plates several designs usually come together. There are different important brands (Curali, Konad, Bundle Monster, Pueen…), each one with its own designs.

In the Nailistas.com store you can find Curali plates and other acrylic plates, as well as stamping tools (clear jelly stamper) and stamping enamels.

The drawing you see is made in a slit in the plate, the nail polish is passed and it is smoothed with a card, removing the excess. Then the tampon is placed on the drawing and it remains attached to the rubber. To finish, the rubber is placed on the nail and the drawing is transferred.

Nail art brushes are good for drawing with acrylic paint or enamel. The shorter brush provides precision for detail. Many times we buy them in fine art stores that serve as well.

The extra long hair brush is ideal for making lines, as it collects the enamel.

To use it we place the entire hair on the nail and make a straight line of the length it is. You can buy this brush in the Nailistas store. If you want to see how precise it is to make lines, take a look at this entry of nails decorated with geometric patterns.

The nail art punch or dotting tool is one of our favorite tools. It is used above all to make fairly regular points of two different sizes (at one end it has a fine ball and at the other a thick one). More complicated things can also be drawn with this tool.

Surely you can find it in a Chinese bazaar or in a large area, or if you prefer you can buy it in the online nail art store.

One of our greatest discoveries of the past year are these Cosmetic Cotton Buds from Flormar. Not only do they serve to give us precision when making a makeup look (eyes, lips ...) but they are also tremendously useful to remove make-up from cuticles when we paint, or when we make a gradient or water marble and the enamel spreads all over. outside of the nail.

As you can see it has two sides, one is flat and resistant and the other ends in a point to achieve greater precision.

We use the disc makeup sponges to basically do the gradients. To do this, we cut out a square piece and impregnate it with two colors.

In this post we show you how the sponge is used for this technique. We have also used it a lot to stencil on galaxy nails.

The adhesive washers that are normally used to reinforce perforated paper for, for example, a filing cabinet, are very useful for nail decoration. They are used to make half moons or also for French manicure (if you have the nail filed in the round).

The orange stick when we do manicures helps us push the cuticle back, but also to remove excess enamel that can appear when we get off the nail when painting. When we do nail decoration it is very common for this to happen and if we pass the tip of the orange tree through the stained area when the polish is wet it will come out very easily.

If we let it dry we will have to hit it with a swab wet with nail polish remover that, in addition to damaging the skin, can damage the nail polish. I personally prefer the stainless steel cuticle pusher. You can find it at a very good price in the online store for decorated nails.
