HOW TO WASH PILLOWS

 HOW TO WASH PILLOWS

The pillows in your bedroom and living room require a little "maintenance", since day after day and night after night they accumulate dirt, mites and sweat among others. It is enough to wash them every 3-4 months or if you see that they yellow, a little less in the case of the living room cushions. You are going to see how nice it is to sleep on a very clean pillow with our tips for washing pillows.

- HOW TO WASH PILLOWS and Pillows Product

Washing cotton, feather or synthetic pillows

Separate the pillowcases and wash them separately.

Don't go overboard with the load in the washing machine and wash only 2 or 4 pillows at a time , depending on the size. Place them on the drum so that the weight is balanced. Add a scoop of detergent. If you want to bleach your pillows, add a cup of dish soap or bleach. Use hot water to completely eliminate the mites.

Dry them in dryer . If they are down pillows you can use the "air" setting and if they are synthetic, the "low heat" mode. Check that there is no trace of moisture or bad smell. If not, repeat the drying process.

Wash memory foam pillows

Remove all covers and linings and wash them separately.

This time you must wash by hand , since memory foam is a sensitive material that is spoiled in the washing machine. Fill a basin with warm water until you can completely cover the pillow. Pour in a tablespoon of liquid detergent and mix well with the water.

Insert the pillow and move it until it is completely wet. Squeeze and twist gently to remove all the dirt.

Rinse thoroughly until the pillow stops foaming water. Keep in mind that this can take a while.

Dry in the sun and do not use the dryer in any case, because it can also seriously damage the memory foam. Check carefully that there is no moisture left on the pillow. Viscoelastic material is absorbent, so take your time to do this. If there is any remaining moisture, it can be spoiled with the appearance of mold.

When are the pillows changed?

To find out if you need to change your pillows, fold them in half. If they recover the shape they are in good condition, if they stay bent, it is time to change them.
