TIPS FOR THE CORRECT USE OF THE THERMOMETER
The thermometer must be inserted correctly to determine the temperature accurately. Depending on the type of thermometer, the sensor will be 1/2 inch to 2 inches in length. The sensor must be fully inserted into the deepest part of the meat.
* For ground beef, insert the thermometer in the thickest part; insert sideways into thin meats, such as hamburgers.
* For roasts and steaks, insert the thermometer in the center of the thickest part of the meat, away from the bone and fat.
Most meat thermometers are accurate within a tolerance of -17 ° C to -18 ° C. Always test the temperature of the meat at various points with a meat thermometer, to verify that it is safe throughout the cut.
