How to make a quilt rack

A new quilt is a fantastic way to liven up your bedroom by adding life to your bedroom . A quilt stand isn't just a nice addition to the foot of your bed, it's a place to hang your quilt neatly, extending its lifespan. Now let's see how to make the quilt rack.

Necessary materials:

  • 1 inch thick plywood sheet
  • Electric saw
  • miter saw
  • Screws and screwdriver
  • sandpaper
  • Varnish

Here's what to do:

  1. Cut the plywood into two pillars, 8 by 32 inches (20.32 by 81.28 centimeters) each (this will be the final two pieces of the rack), four horizontal beams of 2 by 26 inches (5 -by -66.04 centimeters) each (three at the top of the frame and one at the bottom), and two horizontal feet of 2 by 10 inches (5 by 25.4 centimeters) each (helps stabilize the rack)
  2. Cut the ends of the two horizontal pieces of feet at a 45 degree angle using the miter saw.
  3. Cut the corners of the stiles at an angle using the miter saw.
  4. Draw a vertical line in the center of each ladder. The line will be 4 inches (10.16 centimeters) on each side.
  5. Mark a location for the screw on the line you just drew 2½ inches (6.35 centimeters) from the top.
  6. Mark two points for the screws, midway between the line you drew and the edge of the ladder, 6 inches (15.24 centimeters) from the top.
  7. Mark a point on the line for a screw, 4 inches (10.16 centimeters) from the bottom.
  8. Mark two points for the screws midway between the line and the edge of the ladder, ¾ inch (1.9 centimeters) from the bottom.
  9. Repeat this procedure for the other style.
  10. Drill screw holes at all points marked above.
  11. Screw the two foot pieces into the two holes at the bottom of both posts. The length of 10 inches (25.4 centimeters) must be on the floor.
  12. Screw three horizontal crossbeams into the three holes at the top. Screw a cross beam into the holes at the bottom of both posts. The crossbeams must be bolted so that the 2 inch (5 centimeters) thick side faces up.
  13. Sand the rack and varnish .

VERSATILE, PUFFS GAIN SPACE IN THE HOME DECOR

Gone are the days when puffs were just footrests. Today, they take the place of chairs, benches, coffee tables, side tables and even sofas. Comfortable, they also gained new shapes and new finishes to accompany their design. So, when using them, leave the common place and mix them with the coffee tables, make them assume the role of the side table and count on them for the days of a full house (this is only after the pandemic, ok ?!) . Below, you will be inspired by some ideas that make use of our made-to-live design .

SIZE MIX
Two identical puffs, but different sizes. Is there anything more practical than this? In Lider Sion's showroom, the 026 puffs can be used as a coffee table, bench or footrest. Then the choice is yours!

MIX PUFFS WITH COFFEE TABLES
It looks like a game of seven mistakes, but the initiative makes the decor much more interesting. In the Lider Divinópolis showroom, the Click puff is inserted between the Queen coffee tables . The mix & match with the rug also guarantees extra charm.

SAME MODEL, DIFFERENT SIZES AND COLORS
Another tip is to be inspired by Lider Vitória's showroom, which chose two 026 puffs with velvety coating in earthy tones . Positioned close to the coffee table, they can take on a variety of functions. Just move them as desired by the environment.

LOUNGE STYLE
If you want to use a puff for a lounge-style décor, the Botton model , which refers to the capitonê, is a great option. It's even worth using a side table like Vegas . You can leave glasses and snacks on it during the holiday days.

SUPPORT POINT FOR THE BEDROOM OR CLOSET
Another function of the puff is to serve as a fulcrum in the intimate area. The closet, for example, is even more elegant with the puff Back in the center. Here, you can sit down, change your shoes or just relax.

What To Look For When Choosing An Ottoman Bed For A Girl

In any interior of the children's room, you cannot be without a comfortable place to sleep. Little princesses are especially picky when choosing a bed, because not only comfort is important to them, but also a beautiful design. Today, the furniture market offers many options: bed, sofa, sofa, ottoman. In this variety of shapes, the ottoman bed for the girl will be the best option. It combines the convenience, compactness and originality of shapes.

CHARACTERISTICS AND VARIETIES
The ottoman must meet the requirements for furniture designed for the child. First of all, it's practicality. The product combines two functions - a sleeping bed and a platform for playing, preserving the free space in the room. At the same time, the design must be secure. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid models with sharp corners, rigid armrests, without side-stops. An important factor is the environmental safety of the materials used. Children's beds must have a quality certificate.

Don't forget that this furniture is an intermediate option. The child grows up and, in time, the crib will be too small for him. You will need a full bed or sofa, and this is an additional cost. Therefore, the cost of the ottoman must be affordable.

Manufacturers offer two types of models: classic (compact, lightweight, designed for 7-8 year olds) and slider (can be transformed to increase the size of a crib, suggest 14-15 year old operation). Sliding models are more expensive but last longer.

According to the ottoman-shaped bed configuration, it can be divided into several categories:

  • angular;
  • orthopedic;
  • models with arms;
  • folding (transformers).
An ottoman with an angular configuration is suitable for small rooms where there is not enough free space. It's neatly placed close to the wall and looks like a stylish sofa. Orthopedic models are distinguished by a curved seat, anatomically repeating spinal flexion. The armrest options are more like a hybrid of a classic sofa and sofa.

Among the transformers, the following models are the most popular:

  • Long sliding ottoman - a sofa, more reminiscent of a chair with a rigid back. The advantage of this model is space saving. It can be placed in the corner of the room and spread out just before bed. For this reason, a playground for children's games is released during the day.
  • A sliding ottoman with a niche is appreciated for its versatility. Large recessed niches under the crib allow you to place bedding or parts of temporarily unused toys, baby clothes. The niches on the sides of the structure can be used to store toys and bedding.
  • The double model is displayed like a book, due to which a full-fledged vacancy appears. Also, when folded, it takes up minimal space.
  • Ottoman is an ergonomic piece of furniture. It's not only convenient, it's also functional. There are two types of models: with a retractable drawer and with an internal drawer. In the first case, they are located on the front of the frame or on the sides of the product. In the second - access to the boxes appears when the crib goes up.

From a functionality standpoint, models with additional shelves are interesting. They act as steps to a high place in the room. They usually have boxes and during the day you can put books and toys on top. Options with additional shelves are not recommended for children under 3 years of age.

As for the sides, they differ in size and shape:

  • Half - suggest a fence only half the length of the pier. This type of side, playing a safety function, does not completely limit the child's freedom of movement.
  • Four sides - Due to restrictions around the entire perimeter, the highest level of security is provided. A model with these sides is chosen for young children.
  • Stationary - These sides are part of the bed design and cannot be removed by themselves.
  • Removable - used to expand configuration features, for example on collapsible models.
  • Protections on an ottoman for the girl can be carried out in the form of classical laths. However, designers often use them as an original and safe decorative element.

SIZE AND DESIGN SELECTION
If there is a problem of choice: a sofa or a sofa, an ottoman will be the best solution for a girl. Its charm is that the original design allows you to create models in the form of glowing characters or fairy tale elements:

  • carriages;
  • clearings;
  • soft tone ladies car;
  • flower;
  • House;
  • boat;
  • animal face.
When choosing an ottoman shape, it's best to take advantage of the child's preferences. As decorative elements can significantly increase the product dimensions in width, length and height, when choosing this option, you must first determine the product dimensions, which can be installed in the available space in the room.

There are also tall models in which you need to climb the stairs to the bunk. Typically, boxes are placed on steps. The classic size range is as follows:

  • 70 x 190 cm;
  • 80 x 190 cm;
  • 100 x 190 cm;
  • 80 x 200 cm.
The height of the crib at floor level depends not only on the designer's ideas, but also on the type of construction. If the sofa is foldable, when folded, the seat will be higher.

If you can't find the finished furniture to the required dimensions, you can order an ottoman. To do this, you need to choose the sizes, select the desired materials, design, sliding mechanism, propose a decorative design. The masters will complete the order and consider all wishes.

MATERIALS USED
It is very important what materials the ottoman is made of. The product's appearance and the child's comfort depend on it. High-quality raw materials significantly extend the life of furniture.

FRAME
The product structure can be made of solid dry wood, chipboard, MDF or fiber. Basic requirements for the sofa base:

  • reliability;
  • durability;
  • environmental safety.
The frame must withstand increased loads during active children's games. The chipboard structure is more affordable, however, inferior to wood in material quality and structure reliability. Fiberboard is generally used not to produce the structure itself, but to create structural elements: handrails and backrests. MDF - the material is more durable, moisture resistant and durable. The structure is reliable and ecological. In terms of quality, MDF is second only to natural wood.

PADDING, MATTRESS
A mattress is placed on top of the frame. Your choice must be approached carefully, as not only comfort, but also the child's health will depend on the design. Polyurethane foam and holofiber have done well. They are artificial fillings, characterized by resistance to moisture and breathability. Its distinctive feature is its ability to "adapt" to the child's anatomical characteristics, which has a beneficial effect on sleep quality.

There are two main options for a mattress:

  • spring;
  • no spring.
The first is equipped with a dependent or independent spring unit. Independent is considered more modern and anatomically correct due to the presence in the design of springs separated from each other.

A mattress without springs usually has a small height. You can choose models with natural filling:

  • coconut fiber;
  • buckwheat husk;
  • dropped horse hair.
Synthetic materials do not lose relevance:

  • latex;
  • foam rubber;
  • synthetic winter;
  • cotton.
Typically, models using synthetic fillers are selected for allergy-prone children.

Spring and Spring Mattresses

UPHOLSTERY
For the upholstery of the Ottoman bed for the girl, various materials are used: natural and synthetic. Each of the options has several advantages and disadvantages. Artificial leather is often used as upholstery. It is dust resistant, suitable for frequent cleaning.

The advantages of synthetic fabrics can also include:

  • durability;
  • wear resistance;
  • bright tones.
However, these materials do not allow air to pass through and are therefore not very pleasant on the skin. Experts recommend considering options with natural upholstery. It should be borne in mind that natural fabrics quickly lose their appearance and wear out. But for the positive aspects, it is noteworthy that they do not interfere with thermoregulation and also do not cause irritation to the child's skin.

As children's ottomans are not just used for sleeping, the appearance of juice stains and various colorings is unavoidable. A model with removable covers that can be washed quickly will help deal with the problem.

An ideal choice for any child will be a model with upholstery, combining the properties of natural and synthetic fibers. These materials include:

  • tapestry;
  • jacquard;
  • flock.
By using these fabrics, the ottoman will last a long time without loss of attractiveness and bright colors.

TRANSFORMATION ENGINE OPTIONS

Models vary depending on the type of lifting mechanism. It can be vertical (applies to dual models only) or horizontal.

There are several types of mechanisms by the control method:

  • Manual - practical and durable options, although they are considered a little outdated.
  • Spring-loaded - commonly used on small sofas, affordable and convenient to operate.
  • In gas shock absorbers - the most expensive, but convenient for the child, because they do not require much physical effort when folding furniture.

The damper mechanism allows you to lift it into a heavy crib. In addition, the transformation mechanisms are divided into the following types:

  • "Click-gag" - an enhanced version of the book;
  • launch (eurobook) - as a result of the transformation, a bulk crib is obtained;
  • rollaway bed (French, American, Italian) - the bunk rolls out like a rollaway bed;
  • dolphin - allows you to get ample space due to the launch of an additional platform located under the seat;
  • Accordion - consists of three advanced parts by sectors;
  • book - doubles the width of the bunk;
  • a puma or a “walking” sofa is a convenient variant of an enhanced eurobook, as it unfolds so that the retractable part does not touch the floor.

A bright and unusual ottoman bed is a successful combination of practicality, functionality and beauty.The product allows you to equip a comfortable space, save free space for daytime games and organize compact storage of toys.

HOW TO MAKE A LADDER BOOKCASE

There are objects that work so well when we decide to use them for another function that they end up becoming products. I bet you've seen a Staircase Bookcase in a furniture store .

Well, she is a wild card in the decoration and organization of the house and, therefore, I decided to teach you how to make one for your house too. The idea came from Camicado , a store that is in my favorites when buying something here.

The proposal was to do something cool, to organize and at the same time decorate a corner of the cafe. Well, it's time for you to also have this stylish bookcase at your house. To do it you will need:

  • A wooden ladder (you will find it easy in building materials houses – average 150.00)
  • Pieces of wood (I used OSB)
  • 1 leather belt

Step by step:

It couldn't be easier and you do it with one hand on your back. First measure the spaces of the stairs of the stairs leaving an extra 2 cm on each side. With these measurements in hand, run to any wood and ask to cut everything.

I used OSB (59.90 o m2), but also roll plywood, pine, mdf or any other wood that is easy for you there.

Then, to give it a nice twist and your bookcase doesn't look like a construction site, remove the tape that holds the steps. Then use it to measure to cut a piece of leather belt.

Screw the 2 new and jaunty strips in place of the ugly old ones (today I woke up suddenly. lol).

Now just fit each piece of wood on its proper step and your new shelf is ready.

And before you ask where the products I used to decorate are from, I'll give you the hint. I made a wishlist at Camicado and now I'm going to show you each item I decided to bring home.

This Bamboo spoon kit I chose because it comes in a corner to store. Beautifies and organizes.

In this Glass Bottle I decided to put rock salt. It scares away any zica and even makes it easier to roll that barbecue. She and the Galheteiro (or oil plant) are from the Craft line , a collection of objects that are made with recycled glass and have a very nice price.

And speaking of barbecue, I found this Porta Talher ideal to carry everything and make life easier. It has a handle and is made of bamboo.

This Cup Game I chose because of its retro feel, in addition to serving for various types of drinks. From a beer to good drinks.

The BBQ Kit has wooden handles that match the 2 Cutting Boards that are also made of Bamboo. I chose a big one for meat and a smaller one for everyday use.

This Kitchen Scale was already a consumption dream for a long time and I freaked out when I found it. I don't even know if I'll have the courage to use it. LOL

And to close, I have a kit assembled with a dinner dishes game , dessert plates and a bowl . There's also this Bamboo Salad Bowl because you have to roll a little blue whiting from time to time, right?

Camicado is that kind of shop where you spend hours running and creating 1000 possible combinations of everything. It has decor and utilities for all styles and the service is incredible. The store has an exclusive brand, Home Style, which is amazing and has everything to make your corner beautiful.

You can enjoy the Facebook,  Pinterest  and follow the instagram  or twitter the Camicado to stay on top of all the news and still find several tips that are very handy to decorate the house or leave more presentable Homeroom to receive visits.

How Table Trays Can Be Used in Home Decor

Who said that the trays are just for serving the traditional coffee? They are multifunctional and are becoming essential objects to decorate and organize the home. This item is great for tidying small pieces, tidying up office paperwork, organizing perfumes, creams and makeup, among other various options. We prepared for today's post some tips on how trays can be used in decorations with style, good taste and personality.

Versatility

From the living room to the bedroom, from the toilet to the bathroom, from the kitchen to the home office, trays are versatile elements that can be used in different spaces and for different purposes. In addition, they can be found in the most different materials, including: rattan, metal, acrylic, MDF, ceramic, mirror, plastic, rush, silver, etc.

Practicality in the living room

Trays are capable of adding a special touch to your living room. They can be used to display souvenirs, ornaments and other decorative items. You can even use the trays as magazine racks or turn them into beautiful centerpieces. If you don't have a bar at home, put some drinks and glasses on trays: the look is very inviting and this idea is great for receiving visitors. Now, if you're one of those people who keeps losing remote controls, how about gathering them all on a tray that matches the room's decor?

Bathroom functionality

In bathrooms, especially the more compact ones, the use of trays can help organize and use space. On the countertop of the toilet, it is nice to place the tray with soaps and hand towels. It's also worth betting on cosmetics on them or even leaving the makeup and perfumes you use the most in your daily life always at hand. There are still those who prefer to use the trays for glass pots with toothpaste, soap and toothbrushes or even devices such as flat iron and dryer.

Trays in the bedroom decor

What if on your dressing table you used a charming tray with makeup in plain view? You can even place the lipsticks arranged in order of color and the brushes stuck in a pot with coffee beans or clear stones. It's just beautiful, but if you don't like this proposal, they can be used to put jewelry. Best of all, you can improve the look and organization of your environments while spending very little. Even ideas for the nightstand are valid.

Extra tips for decorating with trays

Consider the style and settings of the space when choosing color and material;

Candles and flower arrangements on top of the tray achieve a very elegant aesthetic effect, especially if it is on a glass sideboard or wooden module;

For elegant and sophisticated decorations, the best options are those made of mirror or silver;

A super trend in baby room decoration is to use trays to place the hygiene kit or thermos;

In your home office use them to separate documents.

Keeping the drinks in a suitable place is essential to preserve the  wine's characteristics  and not cause sensory loss. Fortunately, a good wine cellar  is not reserved only for large wineries , it is perfectly possible to create one in your own home!

No idea how to do this? Do not know where to start? Do not worry! Thinking about the main doubts that arise on this topic, we created a super complete article with the necessary information so that you can start storing your favorite wines in your private cellar . Good reading!

What is a wine cellar?
A wine cellar is a climate-controlled environment that is perfectly suited to store the most diverse styles of the drink , whether for the purpose of aging them or just to ensure that their characteristics are effectively maintained until the moment of tasting .

Although cellars are normally reserved for wineries , restaurants or specialty stores, nothing prevents them from being built in the homes of wine lovers around the world. Even though they have obviously reduced proportions, their functions will be the same.

The wine cellars can be made in order to store the bottles for a short period , keeping them at an ideal temperature or to keep them for many years. They, for example, take other important factors into account, such as humidity control, light incidence and vibration, which can negatively affect the products.

Its size can vary from a small space in a closet in the corner of the room, or to an entire room reserved for building the cellar . This, of course, will depend on the space you have available and your enthusiasm for booking and even collecting copies.

What is a wine cellar for?
The previous points of our conversation already give us a good idea of the main purposes of a wine cellar . However, before we delve into this topic, it is interesting to know a little about the history of the creation of this type of tool.

The history of its creation is somewhat uncertain, mainly due to the lack of historical documentation on the wineries . Some historians, however, believe that the custom of storing wines  is very old, dating back to 5,000 BC

Some ancient civilizations used to leave amphorae with the liquid obtained by crushing the fruit, today called must, buried in the ground for months, until spring arrived. Then, the wines were exchanged between containers and buried again, for a long time, until the person responsible for their elaboration determined the ideal moment for consumption.

Fortunately, the techniques have improved and nowadays it is possible to store bottles in specific environments, known as cellars . Like milk, for example, wines can spoil, albeit in a very different way. Some factors can cause its characteristics to change and the drink to lose its quality.

Some of the factors that directly affect the preservation of wines are temperature, humidity and luminosity. These points are properly controlled with the cellars , which provide the perfect conditions for the drink to remain perfect for much longer and evolve in a harmonious way.

What are the main types of wineries?
The first step in understanding how to assemble a wine cellar at home is to know a little about its main  types . Check out the most common varieties in the world of oenology below .

Passive cellar
This type of wine cellar is one of the most common, due to the fact that it does not need many specifics or modernities to function properly. As its name implies, the passive cellar works practically by itself, with only its own structure.

As the main representative of this genre, we can mention the traditional French  caves (term derived from cave, in free translation). This cellar actually mimics the structure of a cave or basement, being usually built below the level of the house and with the right conditions of darkness and humidity.

They are a good option for people who live in the most diverse regions, as the underground environment will be protected from external factors. And for those who have a collection with many examples of bottles, this model is certainly the best option, since the passive cellar allows you to house many wines at once (can, for example, occupy an entire room).

Thermoelectric cellar
As their name already indicates, thermoelectric cellars work with one more technology than passive ones. It is an example of the family of acclimatized wineries and uses electricity to keep the interior of the environment with the necessary conditions to preserve the wine .

It is best suited for those people who live in places with intermediate climates, not too hot or too cold, as this type of cellar does not provide very effective cooling. It works by exchanging heat with the outside and the use of energy to keep it working is minimal.

Therefore, it is not recommended for people who live in very hot regions, where the need for cooling will be much greater, requiring greater energy expenditure. For these individuals, the best option is the winery that we'll look at next. Check out!

Cellar with compressor
If you have expensive wines in your collection or live in a very hot place, compressor cellars are ideal for all your needs. However, this comes with an energy cost, as it takes a much greater amount of force to cool the interior of the environment.

With this technology, you can even set different temperatures for different points in the cellar , making it possible to adapt the temperature to the needs of each bottle session.

However, there is one point that we must consider, the noise. The loud sound is caused by the compressor, the tool responsible for cooling the environment. And if we compare with the other aforementioned wineries , noise interference is practically non-existent.

How to set up a wine cellar at home?
Collecting wines can be quite a hobby, and storing them in a nice wine cellar can be even more fun. The wonderful view of the gleaming wood and the bottles arranged in the environment pleases even those inside the wine world .

However, before delighting in this vision and with the subsequent tasting of the wines in your collection , it is necessary to set up the ideal wine cellar in your home , right? With that in mind, we prepared some essential tips for points that cannot be left out of this construction.

Choose the right place
Choosing the perfect location is the first point that should be taken into consideration before starting to set up your wine cellar . As we already mentioned in our conversation, the specifics of this environment are very democratic and you can choose different places to allocate your bottles .

If you own a large collection of wines or want to purchase many copies of the drink, you can choose a specific room to turn it into a wine cellar . It can be close to the main areas of your home or further away, especially if the thermoregulation is done with a compressor.

On the other hand, a corner of a wall in your living room will also work just as well if your space is restricted and your ambitions are more measured. In addition, this type of wine cellar works as an excellent decoration for any environment.

In either case, however, it is essential to pay attention to the fundamental characteristics of a winery . The environment cannot receive direct sunlight and cannot be extremely hot, for example. Along the tips, we'll look at more specifics that will help you choose the perfect place for your winery !

Determine the wood that will be used
You've probably already noticed that wines are usually conditioned close to woods, right? This is not random and the reasons go far beyond aesthetics — which, by the way, is something very present, since cellars are extremely beautiful and beautify any environment.

The reason for this is that wood is a material that allows the temperature to be maintained at adequate levels. That's why, for example, houses in colder places are built entirely with this type of raw material, which allows the internal environment to be always comfortable for the residents.

One of the most popular woods for building wine cellars in homes is mahogany . This material is very resistant, beautiful and ideal for keeping the temperature of  wine bottles  within the recommended range, preserving the quality of the product and its main characteristics.

Other good options are pine woods (which have a lighter and more delicate color), sapele (which have a very strong and somewhat reddish color) and oak (one of the most resistant woods that are known). The cedar and mahogany may also be used, and any of them will ensure a beautiful environment and safe for their precious bottles .

Avoid exaggerated trepidation
Any sudden or rapid change, whether in temperature or movement, can damage the bottles and their contents and potentially permanent form. Therefore, in addition to being very attentive to the various points we talked about throughout the text, it is essential to also pay attention to the local vibrations.

Stability is an important factor in ensuring that nothing goes wrong with your wines and that they remain intact for years to come. Shaking, although apparently very subtle, can cause small cracks that allow air to enter or even cause your bottle to break.

Other problems caused by movement are changes in the internal pressure of the bottle , especially when associated with fluctuations in temperature. This type of event can cause the cork to be pushed out, spoiling the contents.

Tip:  Old wine: know the main characteristics of aged wines

Furthermore, it is not uncommon for these judders to alter the flavor of the wine , causing the likely future dregs of the drink to mix, interfering unpleasantly with the taste. So it's important to make a firm foundation to avoid these problems.

Keep an eye on the necessary lighting
One of the factors that can negatively influence wine conservation is lighting . It is for this reason that most beverage bottles are dark, in order to block light rays. But after all, why is this happening? What interference does light cause in wine ?

In a simplified way, we can say that the light rays cause, in the long term, chemical changes in the drink that is inside the bottles . These changes cause the flavor to be altered, in addition to several other consequences that can lead to the complete loss of the product.

Light, especially sunlight, can pose a potential problem for long-term storage. UV (ultraviolet) rays from the sun can degrade and prematurely age the wine , making the contents even need to be discarded.

Therefore, it is recommended that the environment of the wine cellar be as dark as possible, without the strong presence of light, whether solar or artificial. Obviously it is necessary to light the area for its handling and cleaning (preferably with fluorescent lamps), but that preferably do not fall directly on the bottles , otherwise it must be turned off after the tasks are completed.

Don't neglect the humidity
One of the most important parts of wine packaging is, without a doubt, the cork that seals the bottle . Unfortunately, this tool is often affected when there is no moisture control, which is important to ensure the integrity of this delicate piece.

As it is made of cork, that is, the outermost area of the trunk of certain trees, it is necessary to adequately control humidity to avoid problems with its structure. When the humidity is too high, for example, the cork can create fungi that damage it.

In cases of low humidity, the product can become extremely dry and crack, causing oxygen to enter the bottle and oxidize the wine inside, harming the product, which can even be lost permanently. A tip is to always store the wines in a horizontal position, so that the cork is always moistened.

Generally speaking, your copies should be stored in an average humidity of 70%. Despite this, levels considered safe vary between 50% and 80%, which makes problems related to this factor very uncommon. However, it is possible to use humidifiers if you live in a very dry region.

Purchase the ideal accessories
Now that you know the wood used and some other very important considerations about the construction of a wine cellar , the question remains: what to put in this environment or close to it? What are the accessories and furniture needed to house my collection?

The first point to be considered is the support that will be used for placing the bottles . As mentioned, it is interesting that the bottles are arranged horizontally, to ensure the best preservation of the product. Therefore, the shelves that will house them must have a structure that allows this conditioning.

The most common models are the wooden combs, which look a lot like the structure of a bee hive, or the horizontal bars on which the bottles are placed . In the case of acclimatized cellars , stainless steel can also be used for the construction of these structures.

Finally, the essential accessories for a wine cellar include a good corkscrew and assorted glasses . The most important and traditional ones are Bordeaux , Flutes , Burgundy, Porto and those used for white wines . Each of them has a specific function and serves to enjoy different drinks.

Pay close attention to the temperature

Last but not least, we'll talk about the temperature of the wine cellar . This is, very likely, the most relevant factor for the preservation, conservation and proper aging of this very delicate drink and, therefore, little attention is paid to this specific point.

Heat is one of the biggest enemies of a beautiful bottle of wine . Temperatures above 21º C will make your drink age much faster, but not in the way we would like, but rather depressing the product. Therefore, the ideal is to keep the wines at temperatures that can vary between 12º and 16ºC, with a small margin for both more and less.

Because of this, cellars are the best place to store your collection . They keep the temperature at levels considered adequate for wines , in addition to avoiding temperature fluctuations, which can be as harmful to the products as the heat, as the variation can cause the  bottle stopper to  be pushed outwards thanks to to the change in internal pressure.

What are the ideal climatic conditions for the conservation of wines?

We are almost at the end of our conversation! By the time you get here, you are probably already adept in the main aspects that must be taken into account when building or purchasing a winery to preserve your wines properly. However, it is still important to talk a little more about the ideal weather conditions for this.

As mentioned in our previous topic, it is crucial that the proper temperature is kept as stable as possible to avoid potential problems with the internal pressure of wine bottles . Because of this, it is impractical to keep them in a refrigerator for a long time, as the climate in this appliance changes every time we open its door.

The wineries , whether passive or air conditioned (depending, of course, the specific needs of each environment, as mentioned above in our article), are ideal environments to ensure that these fluctuations do not occur drastically, leaving the constant temperature every moment of the day.

We realize that the issues inherent to the world of wine are endless , but this encourages us to always look for new things. And in relation to cellars, with some attention to details and suitable materials, it is possible to store several samples without sensory loss, thus preserving the main characteristics of your favorite drink . So, start preparing it as soon as possible!
