Stain removal
Stains happen on bed sheets, be it from illness or food, or simply from living. If you can get to the stain as soon as it occurs, the better the results will be in removing it.
For new stains, remove the affected sheet or pillowcase from the bed and clean it with cold water. Then proceed to wash the entire set of sheets. For silk fabric, you will want to use a stain removal product made specifically for delicate material.
Blood: cold water is the first defense to combat blood stains. If the water doesn't work on its own, add a little shampoo or detergents to help scrub and rinse the stain as well as possible.
Body oil: Sleeping between the sheets and on the pillowcases will transfer the oils from your body and hair to the bedding. For body oil stains, soak the sheets in the washing machine with a quarter cup borax mixed with three pumps of dish soap and a third cup of white vinegar added to the water.
