Allergy to Acrylic Nail Monomer, Remedy

Allergy to Acrylic Nail Monomer, Remedy

The allergy to the monomer of acrylic nails, is something that to most of us who apply nails, has happened to us.
In this article I want to touch on the subject of allergies to acrylic nail products and how I gave it a solution.

- Allergy to Acrylic Nail Monomer, Remedy , And Nail Art Accessories

Something that in my experience I was able to verify and it was quite painful, I have made it uncomfortable.

To give you an idea of what I am talking about, I reached a point where I could no longer do basic things, like washing dishes, or grabbing an object.
Because it hurt my skin very badly.
In addition, my fingertips became dry and split, forming more cracks.

  • As you can imagine it was a mess.
  • To the point of thinking about leaving this job and dedicating myself to something else, and if I did it for some time while I was healing.
  • At that time I was dedicated to another job that I have, which is artisan cosmetics and uploading videos to the channel.

When I went to the doctor, and explained everything that happened to me, he told me that the allergy to the monomer that I had is called contact dermatitis.

The photos I had of my hands were left on a cell phone that no longer turns on.
However, I show you as an example these images that I found on social networks.

Later the doctor explained to me that contact dermatitis occurs in any part of the body that has direct contact with the substance.
Hence the importance of using mouth covers, gloves and glasses every time we work with solvents, chemical powders or irritants.

I filled my prescription, and by medical prescription I suspended everything related to acrylic nails, for a few months.

However, I started looking for palliative or home remedies, so that they would work in conjunction with the medications.
And here I am going to share one, which helped me a lot and I recommend that you do it, if you already have this annoyance.

How to get rid of a monomer allergy
Before, I recommend that you first consult your doctor or dermatologist.
After that we continue.
All you will need is granulated sea salt and distilled water.
that's it!
If you don't have distilled water, make it purified bottled water.

  • Well, what I did was heat the distilled water in a container to a temperature that my skin could bear.
  • The water must be hot, not lukewarm, we add 2 tablespoons of granulated sea salt to dissolve it.
  • Then with your hands you grab a little sea salt, and put them in the hot water, rub them together in the water.

You will feel a kind of relief and pain, it depends on how hurt your hands are, repeat this as many times a day as you need.

When you're done, don't dry your hands, allow them to air dry.

After you apply the cream that your doctor recommended, or a cream for chafing, you can also opt for shea butter or cocoa.

In that time, put aside the industrialized soaps, and change them for some neutral artisan soaps with oats and honey.

And all this together, made the pain and burning in my fingers gradually disappear.
I also started taking some vitamins, since according to the doctor my defenses were very low and that made me more susceptible.

In conclusion.
This that I share with you, has already happened to me for 2 years, and it has not been presented again, of course, now I take my precautions.
I hope it does not happen again.

Has the same thing happened to you?
Share with us your experience and how you solved it.

In addition to the theme of acrylic nails. I invite you to know another facet to which I dedicate myself and support me on my Instagram account and Facebook page.
There you will find artisan cosmetic products, where we make beautiful and healthy things for you.

How to Clean Acrylic Nail Brushes

How to Clean Acrylic Nail Brushes

In this blog post, I want to share some very simple tips on how to clean acrylic nail brushes.
Since it is very important to maintain our main work tool.
On the YouTube channel nail art, I showed you a few months ago how to differentiate a kolinsky quality brush from a synthetic one.

- How to Clean Acrylic Nail Brushes And Nail Art Accessories

Now I want to show you how I clean my acrylic nail brushes, and thus extend the life of each one of them.

Sometimes I am asked if you can clean the acrylic brush with acetone, and from my personal experience I do not recommend it.
In this video you can see the explanation why I never use acetone to clean my kolinsky brushes, and by the way you know in detail what brush you can use to apply acrylic nails.

After watching the video, we will continue with these simple steps to clean or repair an acrylic brush.

How to clean and repair our acrylic nail brushes.

First step.- The first option is our monomer (whatever brand it is) and this happens because by dipping our brush into the monomer, we are continuously cleaning it and the coat of your brush is hydrated, and this prevents clumps of acrylic on it.

It also depends on the way we clean it, you can clean your brush on a napkin in a circular way, if the splint of the brush is rounded.
When the splint is flat, we will clean it by sweeping or sliding.
If you do not know what type of splint your acrylic brush has, do not worry in the video above I explain it in detail.
So, before thinking about disposing of your brush, try clean monomer and, if you can, insert a marble into your godet, to help you separate the hair from your brush.
When the first step does not work we will go with the second.

Second step.- With vegetable glycerin, believe it or not, vegetable glycerin, in addition to being useful for beauty treatments on our skin and hair.
It is also used for cleaning brushes, whether synthetic or made of another material, in this case it would be a kolinsky quality brush.

As an extra tip you can also clean your makeup brushes with it.
You can find it in any supermarket (Soriana, Walmart, Costco, etc.) or in health food stores, it has an economic cost, and it cannot be missing at home.
It is the same procedure as with the monomer, you are going to pour a little glycerin into your godete and with circular movements you are going to clean your brushes, until they no longer have lumps, and it is very important to shape the tip.
You leave them for one night and the next day as new.

If the second step does not work, we go to the third.

Third step.- Shaper by Organic Nails, with this method you have no loss, this restorer for brushes has an effect that helps to contract the bristles of your brushes, making them return to their original tip.
It is only for the use of kolinsky bristles, marla and sabers.
Not suitable for synthetic brushes.

conclusion
When none of the above steps work, it is best to cut the affected hairs.
And use the brush for other uses, just as I did when it occurred to me to clean it with acetone, at least some part of my brush I could rescue.
I hope these tips help you, I already tried them and they worked for me.
I hope they work for you too.
See you soon.

Structure of Acrylic Nails in Detail

Structure of Acrylic Nails in Detail

Knowing the structure of acrylic nails, or the parts of the acrylic nail, is essential when doing nail applications.

In this way, we can identify how to work with acrylic beads according to each particular area.

  • To know the parts that make up the acrylic nail.
  • It is important to know the structure of the natural nail, here on the blog you will find the article.
  • I recommend that you read it before continuing

- Structure of Acrylic Nails in Detail And Nail Art Accessories

Let's see.
To shape the acrylic nail, we have 2 ways to do it: the first is by using tips, which will serve as a support and guide for the application of acrylic.
And the second is through sculptural forms, where we will create the acrylic nail from scratch.

Both techniques are just as important to learn, if you are a beginner, I recommend starting with nail applications with tips.

We are going to see in detail the structure of acrylic nails and the importance it has when making our applications.

Parts that make up the Acrylic Nails
Cant / Apex: Located just between the free edge area and the natural nail. It is one of the areas of the acrylic nail that will receive more impact from the outside.
Also known as Apex, apex or Zone of tension.
Depending on the length of the nail, it will be the size of the cant:

  • Acrylic nail apex
  • Sculptural Nail Cant

Long sculptural nail
It will correspond to a high superelevation, these nails are generally nails that go from number 5 onwards.

Short sculptural nail
This type of nail corresponds to a low cant, they are mostly known as salon nails, since the length of these artificial nails ranges between number 2 and 4.

Tension Anchors: We find them right where the sides of the natural nail end and where the free edge begins, we must place special emphasis on this area, when applying the acrylic to prevent the artificial nail from breaking and breaking.
Tension anchors will need to match from side to side, we will imagine a quadrant on the acrylic nail bed.

They are indicated on the red arrow.

artificial nail tension anchors
Side skirts: Followed by tension anchors, accompanied by the free edge.
We will file continuously and evenly so that both skirts are at the same level.
Always taking into account the design of the chosen tip (almond point, oval point, square point, coffin point etc.)

A balance must be established between the surface of the nail and the flaps, the image shows in more detail the harmony between the apex, free edge and flaps.

acrylic nail side skirts
Curve C of the artificial nail. In curve C of acrylic nails we have some parameters to consider.
It is necessary to emphasize the following points:

Curve C is found in the application of sculptural nails as opposed to tip nails.
Currently, tips with curve C are for sale.
The circumference of the curve will depend on the length of the nail, the curvature of a length of # 2, which will be minimal, will never be the same as an application of sculptural nails of length # 4 onwards, where it is usually more marked.
Apart from sculpted nails, we also find curve C in gel nails.
Among the previous points, it is necessary to highlight what is its main function, which goes beyond something only aesthetic.

The curvature C provides resistance to the extension of the acrylic or gel nail, taking care of it from blows, preventing the nail from breaking, fracturing and affecting the natural nail bed.

In summary:
These are the most important parts of the structure of acrylic nails. The topic is much more extensive and goes beyond theory. Y
It is in practice where you learn and each person adds their own style by mastering this technique.

To create sculptural nails, more factors intervene, ranging from nail preparation, placement of sculptural shapes, having files of different numbers and of course all your material to apply acrylic nails.
