How to Remove Acrylic Nails

 How to Remove Acrylic Nails

Hello girls! In this article I will explain how to remove acrylic nails, without hurting your natural nail and in a professional way.

This is very important if you do not have time to go to your nail salon, or you have an emergency and must remove your acrylic nails at that time.

Never try to remove them with your teeth, as it can cause severe damage to the nail bed of your natural nail.
When this happens, it is often thought that acrylic nails weaken the nail.
The reality is that when a good filing is done and the acrylic nails are removed in a correct way, these types of situations should not happen.

- How to Remove Acrylic Nails and Nail Art Accessories

To show you how to remove acrylic nails, we are going to start with the material you need, they are very easy things to get and that you surely have at home, if you already have your material to apply acrylic nails you will not have to get anything.

  • Material to remove acrylic nails
  • Sanitizer or alcohol.
  • Nail clipper
  • Limes
  • 100% pure acetone (you can find it in stores for stylists and nail products)
  • Cotton balls
  • Aluminum foil.
  • Cuticle pusher or orange stick.
  • Nail strengthener / hardener.
  • Glitter for nails.
  • Cuticle oil.
  • Moisturizing lotion.

We start by disinfecting the nail clippers, files, our hands and acrylic nails to avoid any infection.
Then with the nail clipper you will cut your acrylic nails, taking care not to take your natural nail, the cuts must be made from side to side.

Once the previous step is finished, you are going to take your file and file the surface of the acrylic nails in an enveloping way.
This is to remove the shine that the Top Finish leaves when we put it to cure in the lamp.
If you don't do this step, it will be very difficult for the acetone to work on the acrylic surface.
You are going to do it on all your nails.

Now you are going to cut strips of aluminum foil, the measurement will be the size of your fingers, you should not cover the entire finger, only the acrylic nails area.
And you're going to moisten each cotton ball in pure acetone.
Next you are going to place a cotton ball on the acrylic nail.
And immediately you wrap it with the aluminum foil on the matte side of the paper and the shiny side that is facing out.
You will do this step on all your nails and you will leave it for 15 minutes.

how to remove acrylic nails
Then you remove the aluminum foil and the cottons, and with your cuticle pusher or orange stick, you are going to remove all the acrylic that has been removed.
If necessary, the process can be repeated until there is no acrylic left on the natural nail.

Very important, try to repeat this process only 2 times,
since the skin of the nail can be irritated if we leave the acetone on the nails for a long time.

To finish the acrylic nail removal
When there is no acrylic left on your nails, what you can do is shape your natural nails with a file.
You are going to apply a moisturizing cream all over your hand and also on your nails, giving a light massage.

acrylic nail files
Now you are going to apply your nail strengthener I recommend 2 layers, at the end you are going to apply nail polish, you are going to let it dry.
You apply your cuticle oil.

What is the best monomer for acrylic nails

What is the best monomer for acrylic nails

The monomer for acrylic nails is essential to carry out our acrylic nail application works.
For this reason it is important that you know what your material for acrylic nails is made of and take the necessary measures for the health of your clients and safety in your business.

Let's take a closer look at this information and the materials with which we work every day.

- What is the best monomer for acrylic nails and nail art accessories

Monomer for Acrylic Nails

To start with the process of applying acrylic nails, we must first learn what each material we use is made of and its functions.
This point is very important since the professional service you provide to your business, and the health of your clients, depends on this.

So we will start with the key point of all this, and they are two materials with which we are going to work in the application of acrylic nails without exception.

Monomer and Polymer
Essential for the realization of porcelain nails or better known as acrylic nails.
Monomer is a liquid chemical, vital to be used in the process of creating what we know as acrylic.
Here we are going to stop a bit to know the 2 types of monomers that exist in the market:

  • Monomers composed of MMA Methyl Methacrylate.
  • Monomers composed of EMA Ethyl Methacrylate.

Now we will see that not all monomers are the most suitable and safe for applying acrylic nails.
Since the monomer composed of MMA is used for the creation of dental prostheses and porcelains, it is used by dentists in the medical area.

Therefore, it makes them more aggressive when working with them on our natural nails.

We can recognize them by their presentation.

They are sold by the liter, some are not labeled and the ingredients cannot be seen.
You also recognize them for their low cost in the market, another method of recognizing a monomer that contains MMA is by its too strong aroma, even causing dizziness and vomiting, it is advisable to check the color, although as a general rule it is purple, this type of monomer can become a much darker shade.

In case of having a label, we must read the compounds very well, when you look at the initials MMA you will immediately know that this type of monomer is not recommended for use in your work area.

We must take into account some harmful reactions when using this type of liquid.

  • Skin allergies
  • Burning at the time of application.
  • Deformation of the natural nail.
  • Difficult to remove.
  • Loss of sensation in the fingertips.

Having clarified this point, we will see the importance of knowing perfectly the materials with which we work.

Now let's look at the type of acrylic nail monomer that you can use in your work area.

Monomer with EMA Ethyl Methacrylate ingredients, you find them in trusted distributors, which have been in the market for years, the presentation and packaging comes with a safety cap, it has visible ingredients which highlights this compound "EMA Ethyl Methacrylate", they are low odor or acceptable scent, color tends to be lighter.

Another way to recognize a good quality monomer is at the time of application, you can see that the acrylic is moldable, when removing the acrylic nails it does not become chewy or too rigid.

How to Start a Nail Business and Make Money Applying Nails

How to Start a Nail Business and Make Money Applying Nails

To start a nail business and earn money applying acrylic nails, I invite you to read this article that I hope will be useful for all of you.

When we propose to earn money from home or create our own business, before worrying about money, we must first be clear about how we are going to start, what business plan we have in mind, and have well defined what we want to achieve.

These points help us to create the path to start your acrylic nail application business from scratch, so whether you have a capital, or you don't have a penny, the important thing is that you have it well projected.

- How to Start a Nail Business and Make Money Applying Nails and Nail Art Accessories

We are going to break down each step in detail.

  • How to start a nail business
  • Let's focus on how to start.
  • Well, at this point you should look around and surely you already have some acrylic nail material in your house.
  • What do you have?
  • Write down what material you have and what material you lack, start with the essentials, from monomers, acrylics, a good brush to apply nails, uv / led lamp, gel polishes, top finish, files for acrylic nails, gauze, sanitizer etc. .
  • You don't need to have a lot of everything to start .

If you came here out of curiosity, to see if a nail business is profitable.
Then I recommend that you take an acrylic nail application course, and acquire your basic material to put nails.

While taking a nail course, you can lean on videos on the topic of applying acrylic nails.
In my channel Nail Art you can find information that I hope will help you.
I invite you to subscribe and look at me there.

As you can see, to start your business, you don't need to have all the materials for a nail salon.
Start with the basics and later you can add more and more.

Business plan for nail salon
Now let's start with a nail salon business plan.
When you ask me if it is profitable to start a nail business? I answer that yes. As long as it is something that you are passionate about, that you already have a training and a start plan.

If you already have your material to start, and a training that you have through having taken courses in the application of acrylic nails.
The next step is to know where you want to start your nail business, at home or in a local?
When you start with your first applications, you can practice with your family and friends.
However, you must start making money, to restock your material.
In this case I recommend you start at home, to acquire more practice, this will help you to know the prices they have in the market, at the same time that you begin to generate your own clientele.

You can allocate a place in your home where your acrylic nails business is, and have the privacy to dedicate the necessary time to your clients, without interruptions, as if you were going to work at a local.
If you can, it's just a matter of discipline.

Take a look around places that sell furniture for nail businesses since you will need a table for nail application.
The good news is that you can do it yourself by taking some ideas on Pinterest and putting your own style on it.
Or redecorating some furniture that you have in your house!

As you can see, there are different alternatives that will help you solve your doubts about "how to start a nail business at home".

If your capital allows you to rent a place, we will see different factors.

When we talk about paying the rent of a premises, we must take 2 things into account.
The location and how much you want to earn.

The location of your nail shop, let's say it is the spearhead of your business, you need to take some time to research the key points of your city.
This in order to analyze if it is convenient for you to rent that place, taking into account the following.

  • How much flow of people travel daily in that area.
  • For a beauty business, you want the flow of people to be mostly women.
  • If it is in a square (which I recommend) how much security does it have?
  • Have parking.
  • Check if neighboring stores already have this service or derivatives, do not worry about the competition, just find out that they have the same business target.
  • Check that the square is aimed at a family environment, such as a shopping center or a super market.
  • It is not advisable to put your premises in a square where it is mostly focused on the male gender (hardware stores, strippers, mechanical workshops, carpentry.)
  • How much do you want to earn? It depends on that to find the type of client you are looking for and that they pay for your services, you can start with an amount in mind.
  • Surely you know clients who have paid 500 to 700 pesos for their nail application in a Spa.
  • And clients who can pay a maximum of 250 to 400 pesos when working from home, or beauty parlors in your area.
  • and from this point it depends that a nail business generates different types of income.
  • The payment of the rent of your premises, as well as the services and administrative expenses.
  • These are just some points that I want you to keep in mind .

Just as important is to review the type of style for a nail business (vintage, retro, modern, etc)
In addition to creating harmony between the decoration and the furniture, you also print your personal stamp.

Promote your nail business on social media
Promote your nail business on social networks, it is essential, accounts with Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or through Google Adsense, never stop promoting your services through these means.
I recommend paid advertising, since it is aimed at a target audience, where you choose the age and gender range, I have it verified and it actually works.
Speaking of social networks, start by creating a page on Facebook and let them know more about your business.

In both cases, whether you work from home or decide to rent a place, you should look for an accountant to help you with the tax issue, remember to have all your stationery in order, to avoid some type of sanction or fine in the future.
It may sound a bit tedious when talking about taxes and all these things, but it is well worth the time.

I want to conclude this article with the following; The most important thing is to take action on your business goal and do it now, with the resources you have.
Don't wait for everything to be perfect to do it.
Start making money, doing what you like the most and it will not feel like a job (or maybe it does, but you are working for your business)

Structure of the natural nail and anatomy of the nail

Structure of the natural nail and anatomy of the nail

Knowing the structure of the natural nail and the anatomy of the nail is very important for us.
Only in this way can we recognize how we are going to work with each of our clients.

I recommend that when taking a beginner acrylic nail course, you ask if there is a class that provides this information.

In this article we will see what the physiology of the nail and its functions are composed of.

When we study the anatomy of the nail, we are going to find different issues in this regard.
And we will not only base ourselves on knowing the parts of the nails, we must also have a study on nail diseases, among others.

- Structure of the natural nail and anatomy of the nail and nail art accessories

We will focus on the aesthetic area.
However, it is a key point to know the fundamental characteristics that make up the nail, for technical purposes in our work area.

Later we will deal with nail diseases, as it well deserves a separate article.

Before any abnormality that is seen in the natural nails, our clients should be recommended to attend a medical consultation.

Structure of the Nail and its Parts
As you can see each part of the nail is very well defined in the image.
Now we are going to see the functions that each one of them fulfill.

Lateral nail fold: The nail is made up of a curved fold known as a lateral fold.
Its function is to protect the nails from any external damage, it can be noticed sliding after the cuticle area.
Also known as lateral nail grooves.

Lunula: Better known as a crescent, it is part of the nail matrix, being the most visible.
It is located in the thin area of the nail making it more sensitive to the touch.
For this reason, greater care must be taken when filing, pushing the cuticle or any accident.

Perionychium or periungual edge: It is the continuation of the lateral fold of the nail, reaching the free edge and sealing the sides of the nail. Protecting it from any damage, infection or allergies.

Free edge of the nail: It is the independent part of the nail when a growth is reached, separating from the hyponychium.

Hyponychium: Located just below the edge of the nail, it is made up of epithelial tissue, which protects the nail from bacteria that attack the nail bed.
It is attached directly to the lateral and perionich folds.
Great care must be taken not to injure this area, to avoid future infections or allergies.

Nail bed / nail bed: It is located under the nail plate, formed by an adherent tissue called epithelium, acting as a support platform for the nail plate.

Nail plate / nail plate: Attached to the nail bed.
Its main function is to protect us against external damage, formed by epidermal tissue, made up of dermis and epidermis.
Spanning from the womb to the tips of the fingers, at the time of growth, what we know as the free edge is formed.

Cuticle: The cuticle is responsible for protecting the growth of the nail bed against all types of infections, forming a protective barrier, being the extension of skin that covers the fingers.
Being a part of the nail that protects against infection and external damage, cutting it is not recommended.

Eponychium: Very attached to the nail plate and cuticle, moving with the plate as it grows, forming a small layer of dead tissue around the cuticle.
It is the main protector of the nail root and nail matrix.

Proximal crease: Located just above the cuticle, following the lateral creases.
It works by sealing and protecting the structure of the nail bed, matrix, and each side of the nail plate.

Nail root and nail matrix: All birth of the nail begins from the matrix and the root.
It is hidden under the eponychium which makes it not visible.
Attached to the tip of the phalanx bone by fibrous tissue.

Any blow or wound close to this area can result in a malformation of the nail.
The matrix determines the width and thickness of the nail.

Phalanx: It is a bone located at the end of the fingers and toes, having a direct connection with the root of the nail and matrix.
It is the solid part of the structure of the nail, forming part of our bone system.
We must take care of possible fractures and strong blows that damage our fingers and as a consequence every part of our nail.

It is necessary to remember that each part of our nails fulfills a very important specific function.
From there we can distinguish the type of care that should be taken, depending on each case.

Knowing the structure of the natural nail is a base that will help you identify some parts of the acrylic nail.

Here on the blog, you can find an article that deals with "the structure of acrylic nails in detail."

How to Apply Gelish Step by Step on Natural Nails

How to Apply Gelish Step by Step on Natural Nails

Welcome to this article, here I am going to explain how to apply gelish step by step.

It is worth mentioning that when we talk about gelish, we are talking about gel polishes, or semi-permanent polishes, since gelish is just a brand.

For example reasons, in this tutorial, I am going to address semi-permanent nail polishes as «gelish», being the way our clients usually request this service.

- How to Apply Gelish Step by Step on Natural Nails and Nail Art Accessories

Before starting, I am going to give you the list of the material to apply semi-permanent enamel.
This will help you to know what you need to buy, therefore it is essential that you have it written down.

Material to apply Gelish
As a general rule, you should already have your basic material for applying acrylic nails, such as sanitizer, files, cuticle pusher etc, etc.
Assuming you already have it, I'm going to focus on the materials needed to apply gelish.

  • Protein bond or True Bond
  • PH Balancer / PH Leveler.
  • 100% pure acetone.
  • Gel base or Base Coat.
  • Gel enamels of colors of your preference, you can buy ranges of colors and it is cheaper.
  • UV / LED lamp, I recommend that it be 30 to 48 watts of power.
  • Finish Top Gel.
  • Orange sticks.
  • Cuticle oil.
  • Nail decoration (optional)
  • If you are applying gel polish for the first time, I suggest you practice it on your nails.
  • With this you will realize as the days go by, how well you did your gelish application and how long it lasts.
  • As well as recognizing failures and learning from them.

How to apply Gel Polish step by step

We are going to prepare our hands, just as we would for an acrylic nail application: spraying them with sanitizer or alcohol and disinfecting our cuticle pusher, and nail application files.

With your cuticle pusher, you remove excess dead cell on the sides and around each of your nails.
You must do it gently taking care not to damage.

Clean your nails with gauze and rubbing alcohol.

With the 180 grit file, you will do a light filing on each of the nails.
You must do it vertically or enveloping, this is in order to remove excess fat on the nail, and give it a little porosity.

With an acetone gauze clean each one of your nails.
Acetone in addition to dehydrating, helps remove impurities that may have remained.

On the nails, apply a layer of PH leveling and then a layer of True Bond.

Now you are going to apply a thin layer of Base Coat or Gel Base.
It should be a thin layer, to allow it to dry perfectly on the lamp and not make the gel application too thick.
If you touch skin, help yourself with an orange stick to remove the excesses, always before putting it to cure in the lamp.

You put a lamp to cure for 60 seconds.

Leaving the lamp and without cleaning, we are going to give the first layer of gel polish on our nails, with the color of your preference.

Again I remind you that the gel layers must be thin, so that they dry well in the lamp, and avoid bubbles from forming, or our gelish application from wrinkling.

After polishing the nails, they are cured under a lamp for 60 seconds.

You can repeat this step up to 3 times, depending on the intensity of the color you chose.
The most common thing when polishing your nails is that you touch skin, again you can lean on an orange stick and remove excess color, before putting it to cure in a lamp.

Once this process is finished, you apply your Finish Top Gel on each nail, and again you go to cure the lamp.

Leaving the lamp, you apply cuticle oil and you're done.

Although they also already sell their general brand derivatives.

You will be amazed.

The price is much higher than the previous ones, it is used when you need to take photos of your nail set and you do not have a model.
If you dedicate yourself to recording video tutorials for online courses, or if you have a YouTube channel.

How long do acrylic nails last?

How long do acrylic nails last?

Surely it is a question that they ask you very often in your salon, or when you render your services.
And it is a very common doubt, when we apply acrylic nails.

To get into the matter and clear all the questions, we have to analyze some points.
And the fact is that the duration of acrylic nails is not a general rule that applies to all.
For example: We know people that an application of acrylic nails lasts 15 days, another 21 days and others more than 30 days!

- How long do acrylic nails last and nail art accessories

And this happens because it depends on the care and maintenance that each person gives to their acrylic nails.

  • In addition to other factors.
  • Something so simple and at the same time complicated.
  • So let's see why all this happens and as a pylon, we eliminate some myths.

  1. It is believed that acrylic nails should last a long time, I have even seen articles where they claim that the duration time is from 6 months to 1 year.
  2. Somewhat unhealthy, even if you went to your maintenance every month, it would be quite difficult to maintain the same application for 6 months or more.
  3. There would come a point where a total removal would have to be made, and a strengthening base would have to be placed on the natural nail.

  • Another factor that determines how long acrylic nails last is maintenance.
  • I recommend that the moment you notice the growth of your natural nail, you go to your salon to request an acrylic filling.
  • This way you will be preventing moisture from leaking between your nail and the acrylic.
  • Or, the acrylic will tear off hurting your natural nail.

Avoid using your acrylic nails as tools, they are not for removing clips, opening cans, scraping, or anything like that.

Use gloves when you do housework, in addition to protecting the skin on your hands, it helps acrylic nails last longer.
And so you avoid exposing them to all kinds of chemicals.

Sometimes the reason why the acrylic nail comes off is because of the habit of biting the nails.
This reaches a point where artificial nails are bitten, until they are torn off and they reach the natural nail.
When this happens, not only the nail plate is hurt, but also the cuticle, lateral folds, even severely damaging the skin.
This habit is known as onychophagia.

One point to consider is when you take some type of medicine, or the hands are in contact with some type of chemical agent.
This causes the PH of the nails to be altered, causing premature detachment.

Bad preparation, before applying acrylic nails.
The detachment occurs the same day or the following 3 days of the application.
The acrylic nail peels off naturally, like a walnut shell, is painless, and the nail surface is not pulling.
The surrounding skin does not feel damaged.

To conclude, the time that an acrylic nail application is expected to last is between 21 to 30 days.
Taking into account what is written above.

Later, you can go to have your set of nails renewed, or have them removed in a professional way, never tear them off.
If you want to learn how to remove acrylic nails from home, here on the blog I have an article on the subject.

Allergy to Acrylic Nail Monomer, Remedy

Allergy to Acrylic Nail Monomer, Remedy

The allergy to the monomer of acrylic nails, is something that to most of us who apply nails, has happened to us.
In this article I want to touch on the subject of allergies to acrylic nail products and how I gave it a solution.

- Allergy to Acrylic Nail Monomer, Remedy , And Nail Art Accessories

Something that in my experience I was able to verify and it was quite painful, I have made it uncomfortable.

To give you an idea of what I am talking about, I reached a point where I could no longer do basic things, like washing dishes, or grabbing an object.
Because it hurt my skin very badly.
In addition, my fingertips became dry and split, forming more cracks.

  • As you can imagine it was a mess.
  • To the point of thinking about leaving this job and dedicating myself to something else, and if I did it for some time while I was healing.
  • At that time I was dedicated to another job that I have, which is artisan cosmetics and uploading videos to the channel.

When I went to the doctor, and explained everything that happened to me, he told me that the allergy to the monomer that I had is called contact dermatitis.

The photos I had of my hands were left on a cell phone that no longer turns on.
However, I show you as an example these images that I found on social networks.

Later the doctor explained to me that contact dermatitis occurs in any part of the body that has direct contact with the substance.
Hence the importance of using mouth covers, gloves and glasses every time we work with solvents, chemical powders or irritants.

I filled my prescription, and by medical prescription I suspended everything related to acrylic nails, for a few months.

However, I started looking for palliative or home remedies, so that they would work in conjunction with the medications.
And here I am going to share one, which helped me a lot and I recommend that you do it, if you already have this annoyance.

How to get rid of a monomer allergy
Before, I recommend that you first consult your doctor or dermatologist.
After that we continue.
All you will need is granulated sea salt and distilled water.
that's it!
If you don't have distilled water, make it purified bottled water.

  • Well, what I did was heat the distilled water in a container to a temperature that my skin could bear.
  • The water must be hot, not lukewarm, we add 2 tablespoons of granulated sea salt to dissolve it.
  • Then with your hands you grab a little sea salt, and put them in the hot water, rub them together in the water.

You will feel a kind of relief and pain, it depends on how hurt your hands are, repeat this as many times a day as you need.

When you're done, don't dry your hands, allow them to air dry.

After you apply the cream that your doctor recommended, or a cream for chafing, you can also opt for shea butter or cocoa.

In that time, put aside the industrialized soaps, and change them for some neutral artisan soaps with oats and honey.

And all this together, made the pain and burning in my fingers gradually disappear.
I also started taking some vitamins, since according to the doctor my defenses were very low and that made me more susceptible.

In conclusion.
This that I share with you, has already happened to me for 2 years, and it has not been presented again, of course, now I take my precautions.
I hope it does not happen again.

Has the same thing happened to you?
Share with us your experience and how you solved it.

In addition to the theme of acrylic nails. I invite you to know another facet to which I dedicate myself and support me on my Instagram account and Facebook page.
There you will find artisan cosmetic products, where we make beautiful and healthy things for you.

How to Clean Acrylic Nail Brushes

How to Clean Acrylic Nail Brushes

In this blog post, I want to share some very simple tips on how to clean acrylic nail brushes.
Since it is very important to maintain our main work tool.
On the YouTube channel nail art, I showed you a few months ago how to differentiate a kolinsky quality brush from a synthetic one.

- How to Clean Acrylic Nail Brushes And Nail Art Accessories

Now I want to show you how I clean my acrylic nail brushes, and thus extend the life of each one of them.

Sometimes I am asked if you can clean the acrylic brush with acetone, and from my personal experience I do not recommend it.
In this video you can see the explanation why I never use acetone to clean my kolinsky brushes, and by the way you know in detail what brush you can use to apply acrylic nails.

After watching the video, we will continue with these simple steps to clean or repair an acrylic brush.

How to clean and repair our acrylic nail brushes.

First step.- The first option is our monomer (whatever brand it is) and this happens because by dipping our brush into the monomer, we are continuously cleaning it and the coat of your brush is hydrated, and this prevents clumps of acrylic on it.

It also depends on the way we clean it, you can clean your brush on a napkin in a circular way, if the splint of the brush is rounded.
When the splint is flat, we will clean it by sweeping or sliding.
If you do not know what type of splint your acrylic brush has, do not worry in the video above I explain it in detail.
So, before thinking about disposing of your brush, try clean monomer and, if you can, insert a marble into your godet, to help you separate the hair from your brush.
When the first step does not work we will go with the second.

Second step.- With vegetable glycerin, believe it or not, vegetable glycerin, in addition to being useful for beauty treatments on our skin and hair.
It is also used for cleaning brushes, whether synthetic or made of another material, in this case it would be a kolinsky quality brush.

As an extra tip you can also clean your makeup brushes with it.
You can find it in any supermarket (Soriana, Walmart, Costco, etc.) or in health food stores, it has an economic cost, and it cannot be missing at home.
It is the same procedure as with the monomer, you are going to pour a little glycerin into your godete and with circular movements you are going to clean your brushes, until they no longer have lumps, and it is very important to shape the tip.
You leave them for one night and the next day as new.

If the second step does not work, we go to the third.

Third step.- Shaper by Organic Nails, with this method you have no loss, this restorer for brushes has an effect that helps to contract the bristles of your brushes, making them return to their original tip.
It is only for the use of kolinsky bristles, marla and sabers.
Not suitable for synthetic brushes.

conclusion
When none of the above steps work, it is best to cut the affected hairs.
And use the brush for other uses, just as I did when it occurred to me to clean it with acetone, at least some part of my brush I could rescue.
I hope these tips help you, I already tried them and they worked for me.
I hope they work for you too.
See you soon.

  • Since the acrylic nail trends of 3 years ago are not the same acrylic nail trends 2020.
  • And although the materials for creating nails are basically the same, the same does not happen with the decoration, pigments and effects that today mark us.

This second list of materials to make acrylic nails, is intended to be the continuation of the first one that I shared with you in the article mentioned above.

In addition to polymers of different colors and monomer, you need a good 3d brush.
You find them of different materials and prices, being the kolinsky brush for 3d the most used.
Although I have synthetic brushes that do this very well.

Nail Diseases and Disorders

 Nail Diseases and Disorders

Diseases and disorders of the nails are a problem that has afflicted us all at some time.

This could be the consequence of some bad habit acquired.
Some signals that our body sends to monitor our health, and also by some chemical agent or external stimulus that has been contacted.

If this annoyance is not addressed in time, it can cause major damage to our skin and nails, to the point of losing the nail in its entirety.

Even affecting the toenails and vice versa.

  • We as manicurists and nail applicators, it is important that we have knowledge about this health-related topic.
  • Only in this way will we be giving good customer service, which goes beyond having beautiful hands, but also healthy ones.

This also helps us to take special care in the hygiene of our nail application utensils, as well as our material.

  • Being able to recognize some pathologies and diseases of the nails. We can decide if it is feasible to provide the requested service.

Structure of Acrylic Nails in Detail

Structure of Acrylic Nails in Detail

Knowing the structure of acrylic nails, or the parts of the acrylic nail, is essential when doing nail applications.

In this way, we can identify how to work with acrylic beads according to each particular area.

  • To know the parts that make up the acrylic nail.
  • It is important to know the structure of the natural nail, here on the blog you will find the article.
  • I recommend that you read it before continuing

- Structure of Acrylic Nails in Detail And Nail Art Accessories

Let's see.
To shape the acrylic nail, we have 2 ways to do it: the first is by using tips, which will serve as a support and guide for the application of acrylic.
And the second is through sculptural forms, where we will create the acrylic nail from scratch.

Both techniques are just as important to learn, if you are a beginner, I recommend starting with nail applications with tips.

We are going to see in detail the structure of acrylic nails and the importance it has when making our applications.

Parts that make up the Acrylic Nails
Cant / Apex: Located just between the free edge area and the natural nail. It is one of the areas of the acrylic nail that will receive more impact from the outside.
Also known as Apex, apex or Zone of tension.
Depending on the length of the nail, it will be the size of the cant:

  • Acrylic nail apex
  • Sculptural Nail Cant

Long sculptural nail
It will correspond to a high superelevation, these nails are generally nails that go from number 5 onwards.

Short sculptural nail
This type of nail corresponds to a low cant, they are mostly known as salon nails, since the length of these artificial nails ranges between number 2 and 4.

Tension Anchors: We find them right where the sides of the natural nail end and where the free edge begins, we must place special emphasis on this area, when applying the acrylic to prevent the artificial nail from breaking and breaking.
Tension anchors will need to match from side to side, we will imagine a quadrant on the acrylic nail bed.

They are indicated on the red arrow.

artificial nail tension anchors
Side skirts: Followed by tension anchors, accompanied by the free edge.
We will file continuously and evenly so that both skirts are at the same level.
Always taking into account the design of the chosen tip (almond point, oval point, square point, coffin point etc.)

A balance must be established between the surface of the nail and the flaps, the image shows in more detail the harmony between the apex, free edge and flaps.

acrylic nail side skirts
Curve C of the artificial nail. In curve C of acrylic nails we have some parameters to consider.
It is necessary to emphasize the following points:

Curve C is found in the application of sculptural nails as opposed to tip nails.
Currently, tips with curve C are for sale.
The circumference of the curve will depend on the length of the nail, the curvature of a length of # 2, which will be minimal, will never be the same as an application of sculptural nails of length # 4 onwards, where it is usually more marked.
Apart from sculpted nails, we also find curve C in gel nails.
Among the previous points, it is necessary to highlight what is its main function, which goes beyond something only aesthetic.

The curvature C provides resistance to the extension of the acrylic or gel nail, taking care of it from blows, preventing the nail from breaking, fracturing and affecting the natural nail bed.

In summary:
These are the most important parts of the structure of acrylic nails. The topic is much more extensive and goes beyond theory. Y
It is in practice where you learn and each person adds their own style by mastering this technique.

To create sculptural nails, more factors intervene, ranging from nail preparation, placement of sculptural shapes, having files of different numbers and of course all your material to apply acrylic nails.

CHEAP AND GOOD Semi-Permanent Enamels

 CHEAP AND GOOD Semi-Permanent Enamels

Semi-permanent enamels are found in different prices and brands. Gelish being the best known and most popular brand in gel polishes.
To the extent that our clients ask us for an application of Gelish, instead of an application of gel polish.

And it is when we take on the task of looking for different brands that adapt to the prices we have in our beauty salon, and the competition.

- CHEAP AND GOOD Semi-Permanent Enamels And Nail Art Accessories

That is why I want to share with you, some semi-permanent enamels that although they are not from the Gelish brand, they have surprised me by the quality and above all the price.

To be honest, I bought them with a bit of suspicion, I was testing them, they passed the test and I stuck with those brands.

Later, when working with these gel polishes, I was able to add more variety of products to my services.

Economic Semi-permanent Enamels
Enamels JR, this brand is perhaps the one with the most variety in shades. I used it together with your base coat and top coat and they were very good.

JR gel polishes
Charm Limit, I really liked them for the color coverage, with 2 applications the tone was already very defined.
The presentation I purchased was 15 ml, and it exceeded my expectations.
They lasted more than a month on my nails and I had a touch-up when the growth of the nail was already beginning to be noticed.

Charm Limit gel polishes
Republic Nail, they look beautiful in my nail polish, van you are going to love them.
Their presentation of Swarovski crystals on the lid makes them look very beautiful.

Speaking of quality, in my opinion they don't ask for anything from the Gelish brand.
They are 1-step gel polishes, although I prefer to apply them as if they were 3-step, it is up to you.

At present they are the ones I use in my "gelish applications", and with the brand that for the moment I have stayed.

Republic Nail
These are the semi-permanent enamels that seem to me to be of good quality, and that can be given a trial chance.

It must be remembered that recognized brands such as Organic, Nail Factory, Fantasy Nails etc, etc, also have their own line of semi-permanent gel polishes.

If you have tried a brand that you liked, I would appreciate it if you share it in the comments, to try it.

Acrylic Nail Brushes prices and brands

Acrylic Nail Brushes prices and brands

The brushes for acrylic nails are found in different brands, numbers and prices.
Another point to take into account is the material of which they are composed. Lately I've been leaning towards synthetic brushes.
I'm already preparing an article for you about synthetic bristle brushes.
(I invite you to subscribe to the blog to notify you when new articles are uploaded)

- Acrylic Nail Brushes prices and brands and nail art accessories

Returning to the subject of brushes for nail applications.
This time I am going to answer the most frequently asked questions on Instagram and YouTube.

What brand of nail brushes do I recommend?

The question I see the most in my networks is about the brand of nail brush that I like or recommend.
I will tell you that when I buy my brushes, I look first at the quality and then at the brand and price.

  • The brushes that I currently keep are from the Pana brand (this brush is my favorite), one from Organic and the other from a generic brand.
  • I like to use brushes that have a wooden handle, for example the Pana brush, I feel that I grip it with greater precision.
  • I remember that at one time I had a Mia Secret brush, it lasted for a long time, until I lost it.

What number of brush is used to make acrylic nails?

All acrylic nail brushes have different numbers, this number indicates the thickness of the acrylic pearl that is going to be formed.

For this reason, if you are a beginner, it is recommended to start with a # 6 nail brush. With this number of brush you will take pearls of a medium size, and it will be easier to mold the acrylic.

As you gain practice in handling acrylic, you can work with brushes with higher numbers.

What is the price of brushes to make acrylic nails?

  • The price varies, depending on the brand and quality of each brush.
  • There are Kolinsky quality brushes and others with synthetic bristles, from there the cost of each brush changes.
  • Here in Mexico the price ranges from $ 300 pesos to $ 1000 pesos onwards.

How to distinguish a Kolinsky quality brush from one that is not?

  • Although the price of the brush is already indicative, this is not always the case.
  • Before investing in a good brush, research its quality with the supplier, this point will be key to making a good purchase.
  • You can also buy it directly in stores and official pages of the distributor or company.

Finally, I invite you to read the following article to have more extensive information on the subject.

5 Techniques to paint nails that you did not know

5 Techniques to paint nails that you did not know

Hands are a part of the body that we use all the time, so keeping them clean and beautiful is a habit we must adopt. Painting the nails, in particular, has turned the hands into an aesthetic element that stands out.

The art of painting nails
You like to look beautiful all the time and reflect the most current trends in your clothes and accessories, so you cannot miss your nail polish.

That is why we dedicate these lines to show you some techniques to paint nails that you did not know.

- 5 Techniques to paint nails that you did not know and nail art accessories

The best techniques
With the development of the art of painting nails, many ways and styles have been born to give life to this part of the hand. Without a doubt, there are many designs and tools that can be used to paint them.

In order for your nails to always look what is trending, you must know various techniques; But keep in mind that the best way to paint your nails is usually the one that suits your creative ideas and skills.

The materials you use can be diverse, according to the design you want to make or the type of nail you decorate (natural, acrylic, gel, etc). Here we list some techniques that may work for you.

1 Apply a white base
Our nails have a natural color that, although we do not take it into account, modifies the way in which the polish looks.

That is why if we apply a layer of white glaze on them and then put another color on top, the glaze that covers the white will take on a look much more similar to the color of the bottle!

painting the nails white first gives more depth to the color
This technique will be very useful when you want to highlight a color, as in the case of neon tones, which are better defined if you already have a previous base. Remember: most bright colors tend to look a lot more vivid when placed over white!

2 Technique for marble effect
Do you want to learn how to make other great designs? Sure, marble effect nails are the design you're looking for. Do them with this step by step:

  • You need two different colors of nail polish that stand out from each other, for example gray and carmine.
  • Get a plastic bag or some vitafilm.
  • Choose a fine bristle brush for the decoration.
  • You can not miss the cotton and acetone that will help you clean the nail in case of errors.
  •  Before decorating the nails, apply a nail strengthening base.
  • Apply one of the two polishes you chose and wait for it to dry.
  • With the brush, paint the plastic bag using the second polish you chose.
  • Rub the bag delicately over the nails so that the color is evenly distributed creating the natural stretch marks that give the appearance of marble.
  • Remove excess nail polish with the acetone-soaked cotton ball.

3 Accelerates the drying of nails.
One of the problems that you can face when decorating your nails is the time you have to wait for drying. Keep in mind that many techniques require the application of one or more colors, in layers that must be dried to finish the decoration.

To speed up the drying process, this technique can work for you, it is very simple.

  • Fill a bowl with ice and water.
  • Once your nails are polished, wait a few seconds and dip them in the liquid solution.
  • This technique is applied on regular enamelling.

4 Extends the duration of enamelling
Another technique to paint the nails that will be useful in decorating is to use a cooking oil spray on the recently enameled nails; This simple action will help you prevent stains and make the glaze more durable.

You can use this technique on regular paint, or cold gel.

5 Broken glass effect

The glass effect is a technique that will leave your nails ready for a night event, due to its elegant and iridescent view that will give you the best look for that special event. It doesn't matter if it's a big party or a gathering with friends, this technique will make your nails look amazing.

To achieve this effect litmus paper is used, which will serve to give the appearance of broken glass. Follow these steps:

  • To achieve the breaking effect, you must have previously cut the paper; what you will do is arrange it in such a way that it appears tears.
  • Cut off the excess paper with scissors.
  • Cover the nail with a clear protector.
  • You can see the complete tutorial of this technique by clicking here.

How to get the products to apply the techniques?
For any of the techniques described above, we recommend using a set of brushes, since they facilitate decoration. In the same way, when you let your imagination fly, you will need a series of utensils and products to decorate that will allow you to develop designs in a practical way.

You can find everything you require in specialized stores such as Cora Factory, which offers you everything you need to perform a number of techniques and even create others with which you will surprise everyone. You just have to let your imagination run wild.

Conclusions

The techniques of painting your nails that we recommend here can be combined with many other ideas that you may come up with. Decorating your nails can be a lot of fun! Dare to create your own designs, since if you talk about the art of decorating, the limits are only what you put on.

Everything you need to know about nail art

Everything you need to know about nail art

Most likely, by now you have heard something about Nail Art or Nail Art, one of the latest trends in women's fashion that consists of making true works of art on the nails using different polishes of all colors to capture different designs: Faces, leaves, flowers, animals, jewelry, etc.

The truth is that Nail Art has been in countries like Japan for some years (where it began in the 90s), but the whole phenomenon was unleashed worldwide when Katy Perry uploaded a photo of her nails with Nail Art on her Twitter account. which you could see images of his ex-partner Rusell Brand. The American artist is the person with the most followers on Twitter in the world, so it is not surprising that this celebrity has given more strength to a fashion that, apparently, is here to stay.

- Everything you need to know about nail art and nail art accessories

Since then, this trend has started to spread rapidly around the world, plus a lot of celebrities and bloggers have shared really impressive designs that help this fashion continue to grow and reach the hands of aesthetic experts, designers , artists, technique teachers and even big brands, becoming a great artistic and fashion trend.

As I mentioned before, the designs can be on practically any subject, from lines, references to works of art, motifs from series or movies, original designs or even brand logos. When you see someone decorating nails you will notice that each design depends on the tastes of each person and the inspiration they have.

Nowadays it has become an accessory that cannot be missing in big fashion events, such as New York Fashion Week and other events of the same size.

In addition to Katy Perry, it is increasingly common to see other celebrities using Nail Art, such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Adele, Demi Lovato or Lily Collins.

The popularity of Nail Art grew too much and by leaps and bounds. A clear example of this could be observed in 2001 in the United States, when nail products and accessories exceeded the demand for other conventional cosmetics such as lipsticks. Varnish, gloss gel and decals increased sales by up to 59%. Another factor why this trend has become so popular, besides that it is a great way to express yourself, is because it is quite accessible and no matter a person's physical build, anyone can use it.

This fashion has been around for a few years, so you can find some designs that are booming, forming part of the 2017 nail trend. Among some of the best known designers is Fleury Rosse (with work for Fashionista, Teen Vogue and Seventeen) and Sophie Harris-Greenslade, who are renowned for their original, creative and thoughtful designs that they can do in the small footprint of a nail.

All over the world there are spaces where Nail Art services of very good quality and with quite original designs are offered, so it will not take you time to find a place to make the design you are looking for.

If you want to do Nail Art but you are not very clear about what type of design you are looking for, there are some portals like we heart nails where you will find a wide variety of designs of all kinds and for all tastes. We don't always feel creative or have a design in mind, so having a reference site where they can help inspire you to find a design that goes perfectly with you is an excellent option.

Easy nail art ideas for those who are not very expert with nails

Easy nail art ideas for those who are not very expert with nails

If the art of painting your nails is not something you are given, do not worry. We show you the simplest, easiest and most error-proof ideas so you can wear a perfect manicure!

There are people who grow up with manual skills to paint amazing nail ideas with ease… and others who can't even with a coat of polish! If you identify with the latter, we also include ourselves and that is why we prefer to resort to the manicurist, than to make a disaster by own hand. But what to do when the classrooms are closed?

- Easy nail art ideas for those who are not very expert with nails and nail art accessories

Do not worry, luckily we have found the easiest nail designs that have no fault, even for those that we are not very expert. If you are patient and have the materials at hand, we assure you that you will never go through bad nails days again!

NAIL IDEAS FOR THOSE WHO ARE NOT VERY EXPERT

Color points
Betina Goldstein taught Glamor how to make a flawless, minimalist nail art that has no room for error, even for those with little skill with their nails. You just have to take a pointer and place three circles of different sizes and colors on the transparent nail, distributed over a considerable space. When you're done, apply a layer of a matte top coat and you're good to go!

Smiling faces
For this nail idea we will continue to use a pointer and the transparent base -as in the previous one-. only now the circles will be bigger and yellow. Once these are dry, take an ultra-fine brush and black polish, and paint the eyes and the smile of the happy faces. For the result to be beautiful, you do not need to be an expert, but you do need to have a little patience.

Colored strips
We know that a line as precise as the one in this idea is not very easy to replicate, but the solution in these cases is to buy adhesive strips to decorate nails, in the color you prefer. The first thing you have to do is polish the edges with an almond shape, then you must glue the strip vertically at the tip, trim the excess, file to make it perfect and finish with a layer of shine.

Golden stars
The applications in the shape of miniature stars are a must in your nail art collection, if decorating your nails is not very good for you. The reason? They make your hands see on point just by putting them on. Simply place three dots of nail glue, put the stars on top (if they have adhesive on the back, skip the previous step), wait for them to dry and fix with a good shiny polish. Easier, impossible!

Flowers and more flowers
Start by painting two nails yellow (or whatever you prefer) and leave the rest transparent. On the latter, paint floral nail ideas with a toothpick: Put a dark dot in the center and then yellow dots around it to form the petals. For a more elegant result, finish by applying a layer of matte top coat.

Ombre nails

Probably doing an impact gradient is not a good alternative if your experience with manicure is little, but there is another much easier way to achieve it and it is by painting each nail a different shade. The intention is to go from the dark to the lightest color so that a perfect ombré is appreciated, although you can simply use different tones within the same color range.

Small hearts
Here you have to start by placing a nude nail polish base, wait for it to dry very well and trace a white heart on the first third of the nail. How to do it? With a pointer, place two small dots together in the center. Next, take a toothpick and lengthen the bottom of the circles to form the tip of the heart. That's it!

Scrambled eggs

To give your nails a fun and cool touch, draw starry eggs! You can do it with a brush or pointer (as you prefer). The important thing is to start with the white nail polish, wait for it to dry to perfection and put the yellow dot in the center. Because the shape of the egg is uneven, mistakes will not be noticed!

How to do nail art

 How to do nail art

I like to paint my nails. From a very young age my father always told me that women should always have soft and well-groomed hands. That is why I learned to do my manicure myself so as not to spend extra money. This means that you can change the manicure whenever you want.

There are many brands of nail polish. Some more expensive than others. But at the moment of truth, the important thing is the preparation of the nail so that that enamel lasts long. It is important that before putting any polish the nails are clean and well filed. It is also good to remove cuticles so that the enamel lasts longer although this is a step that I hardly ever do.

- How to do nail art and nail art accessories

Once the nails are prepared it is good that you use a base to protect your nail from chemicals. I usually use a clear base but in this case I used a lavender color to help the red look more radiant and not damage my nail. Here are the steps on how to change your manicure from boring to nail art.

  1. If you're using a dark color, paint your nail a light color like lavender to protect it. Just wear one cape.
  2. Paint the nail your favorite dark color, in this case, use the red color What’s Your Point-settia? OPI brand. Put on two layers.

Now comes the artistic part where your imagination can run. You can use different colors or even pens that are specific to nails. Just let your imagination run. I wanted to do something easy and use another color and the nail pen.

  1. For the ring finger nail, draw a white line using Avon White
  2. For the middle finger nail, I used the Sally Hansen nail pen, I heart nail art thought in White and I only made a point but I was able to do more things since it is very easy to use.
  3. Use a sealing coat of SinfulColors Top Shine to ensure the manicure lasts longer.
